Details: The UK government said that "hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, including children and schools have been left without heat and power" during severe winter conditions.

According to the statement, the new funding will help meet urgent needs "to keep heat and power available for millions of families, children and the elderly after President Zelenskyy announced a state of emergency in Ukraine following prolonged attacks on Ukraine's energy sector".

Quote: "This funding will provide vital emergency support to repair, restore, protect and generate energy supply nationwide, keeping electricity and heating on in homes, hospitals and schools during harsh winter conditions."

Details: The UK also announced that, to mark the first year of the 100-year partnership, it is expanding the school twinning programme. The initiative will benefit 54,000 British and Ukrainian school students, contributing to the long-term security and growth of both countries.

A further 300 schools from both countries will join the landmark 100 Year Partnership programme over the next three years.

Previously: Ukraine and the UK signed a roadmap to implement the 100-year defence partnership agreement previously signed by the two countries.
