Putin's recent strike is a wake-up call for those gathered in Davos – Ukraine's foreign minister
Russia's latest attack on civilian settlements in Ukraine on the night of 19-20 January is a "wake-up call" for world leaders gathered in Davos, said Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

Details: Sybiha added that Ukraine needs urgent additional energy assistance, air defence and interceptor drones. It is also important to continue sanctions pressure on Moscow.
"Thousands of houses are without heating in Kyiv at 15 degrees below zero outside, following Russia's large-scale strike overnight. War criminal Putin continues to wage a genocidal war against women, children and elderly," he wrote.
He added that "the resilience of the Ukrainian people cannot be an excuse for this war to continue".
"It (Russia's aggression against Ukraine – ed.) must end as soon as possible," the minister concluded.
For reference: The 56th World Economic Forum is taking place in Davos, Switzerland, from 19 to 23 January. US President Donald Trump is expected to attend.

- Russian forces launched an attack on Kyiv on the night of 19-20 January, leaving one person injured. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that non-residential buildings had been hit in the Dniprovskyi district.
