Trump complains Ukraine and Russia are alternately unwilling to end the war

US President Donald Trump has criticised both Ukraine and Russia, saying that each side in turn appears unwilling to bring the war to an end.

Background:

• It was reported earlier that the White House had not yet scheduled a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the World Economic Forum.
• Trump previously said he would meet Zelenskyy in Davos if the Ukrainian president was there, but stressed that no specific arrangements had been made.
• On 20 January, Trump confirmed that he plans to meet with Zelenskyy.
