Critical situation in energy system prompts power outages in several Ukrainian oblasts

Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission operator, has reported a difficult situation in the energy system that prompted emergency power cuts in several oblasts on the morning of 21 January.

Quote: "ATTENTION! Emergency power outages have been introduced in several Ukrainian oblasts due to a difficult situation in the energy system following Russian strikes. Previously posted schedules are currently not in effect."

Details: Ukrenergo added that power engineers are working to restore a stable electricity supply as quickly as possible.

"Emergency outages will be lifted once the situation in the energy system stabilises," the transmission operator stated.

Ukrenergo also urged everyone who currently has electricity to limit power use and avoid unnecessary consumption.
