One killed and 15 injured in Russian attacks on Sumy, Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts

One person was killed and 15 were injured in Russian attacks on Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts on 20 January.

Details: A resident of the village of Osykove in Donetsk Oblast was killed in a Russian strike. Seven people in the oblast were injured.

Filashkin noted that the total number of casualties does not include the city of Mariupol or the town of Volnovakha.

Russian forces conducted nearly 80 attacks on 31 settlements across 16 hromadas in Sumy Oblast. Three people were injured: a 42-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man in the Bilopillia hromada and a 63-year-old man in the Hlukhiv hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

In addition, a 32-year-old woman sought medical treatment for injuries sustained in a Russian strike on the Sumy hromada on 17 January. All of them are being treated as outpatients, Sumy Oblast Military Administration noted.

Eight settlements were hit and five people were injured in Kharkiv Oblast. A 41-year-old man was injured in the village of Husynka. A 56-year-old woman and two men aged 78 and 74 experienced acute stress reactions in the city of Chuhuiv. A 55-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction in the village of Sadove.

Syniehubov also reported damage to housing and civilian infrastructure in several districts of the oblast.

Background: Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 97 drones of various types since the evening of 20 January. Ukrainian air defence units have brought down 84 of the drones, although hits have also been recorded. The Russian attack is still ongoing.
