UK defence secretary: let’s not forget our enemy is Russia
UK Defence Secretary John Healey has called on allies to remember that Russia remains NATO's main adversary, amid rising tensions between Europe and the United States over Greenland.

Details: Healey said that in a time of "uncertainty", Europeans must remember Russia is a threat to the whole continent and to NATO.
Quote: "It is Russian attacks that are intensifying in Ukraine, it is Russian activity that is expanding in the North with new bases, and it is Russian recklessness that is testing NATO's response and resolve."
More details: Healey also stressed the importance of supporting Ukraine.
Quote: "A secure Europe needs a strong Ukraine and I am proud that our two countries [the UK and Denmark – ed.] are among Ukraine's most active supporters and are providing it with military assistance. Together we clearly understand our mission: to support Ukraine in today's fight and to prepare for tomorrow's peace."
Background:
- Norway's Defence Minister Tore O. Sandvik has also said, amid the crisis around Greenland, that Russia remains NATO's main threat.
- US President Donald Trump has advised Europe to focus on the Russo-Ukrainian war instead of Greenland.
