Quote: "Sky Hunter is a system for guiding interceptor drones towards airborne targets such as Shahed drones. The system automates the interception process by using real-time radar data to direct strike UAVs on enemy drones."
Details: Brave1 added that the company's technologies provide rapid threat response, radar and drone coordination and mission recording for further analysis and tactical optimisation.
The system integrates with different types of interceptors and minimises operator involvement thanks to a high level of automation.
"Sky Hunter has received a grant from Brave1 and investments from several venture firms and a private investor from the United States. Importantly, the recent deal involved an investment directly into the Ukrainian legal entity – without intermediaries – ensuring the maximum positive impact on our economy. Brave1 also helped investors structure the deal in line with Ukrainian law," the cluster said.
Sky Hunter CEO Serhii Nazarov said the funds would support the active development of R&D and further improvements to the technology.
The company's website lists several use cases for the system: protection of strategic facilities, drone swarming operations and defence against Shahed-, Molniya-, Zala- and Supercam-type UAVs.
Among the key advantages is the ability of the drone to independently detect a target, calculate its trajectory and carry out an attack without human involvement. Sky Hunter also offers integration with various drones and platforms as well as adaptation to changing battlefield conditions.
Ukraine is actively using interceptor drones to down Russian UAVs and is continuing to develop this technology. From February, Ukraine and the United Kingdom are set to produce up to 1,000 Octopus interceptor drones per month.
