"That's great": Trump on Putin’s US$1bn for "Board of Peace" from frozen Russian assets

US President Donald Trump has spoken favourably about Russian leader Vladimir Putin's intention to pay a membership fee for the "Board of Peace" using Russia's frozen assets.

Details: Trump was asked about the possibility of Putin using frozen Russian assets to finance his membership of the "Board of Peace".

Quote: "He's [Putin] going to join the Board of Peace, and he's going to make a contribution of a billion dollars, and by using his money – I mean, if he's using his money – that's great."

Background: Putin said earlier that Russia could contribute US$1 billion to the "Board of Peace" on Gaza from Russian assets frozen in the United States.
