Details: After the Russian drone attack on 22 January, one of the city's mines lost power and miners were trapped at depths of 1,135 metres, 865 metres and 475 metres.
"With support from the SES mining rescue unit, mine workers walked almost seven kilometres through underground tunnels. The rescue operation took six hours," the SES said.
After midnight, another power outage brought operations to a halt at a second mine where 92 workers were underground.
Rescue teams used a counterweight method with the mine cage to bring the miners to the surface and completed the operation in four hours, the SES reported.

All the miners were brought to the surface.

Background: On the morning of 23 January, emergency power outages were introduced in many oblasts of Ukraine on the instructions of Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned electricity transmission operator.
