Details: Emergency repair work is ongoing where the security situation allows, Nekrasov said, adding that a significant electricity deficit persists in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast.
"The situation remains difficult, so emergency outages are being applied. A return to rolling power outages will take place after the power grid's operation is stabilised", Nekrasov said.
In addition, more than 700 settlements remain without electricity due to severe weather in Vinnytsia, Odesa, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Chernihiv and Cherkasy oblasts.
Repair crews from regional power distribution companies are working around the clock.
Nekrasov reiterated that rolling power outages remain in effect for consumers nationwide, alongside capacity restriction schedules for industry and businesses. Emergency outages are also being implemented in several regions.
"The main reason for the emergency outages is last night's strikes on Ukrainian power plants and substations in the electricity transmission and distribution system", he explained.
Background: Emergency power outages were introduced in some oblasts of Ukraine on the morning of 28 January due to the difficult situation in the power system caused by Russian strikes.
