Russian forces attacked Odesa Oblast with attack drones on the night of 27-28 January. As a result of the strikes, buildings of the Holy Dormition Monastery were damaged, along with warehouse and administrative premises and vehicles.

Details: Firefighters reported that fires broke out after the strikes but were successfully extinguished. The work of SES units was complicated by repeat strikes.

Early reports indicate that three people were injured.

The Odesa Diocese reported that the monastery's buildings were damaged by the strike, windows were blown out, and there are visible traces of destruction and explosions. Debris hit the dairy workshop and the farmyard.

Quote from the diocese: "Literally moments after the brotherhood left the monastery kitchen, where dairy products were being prepared, enemy Shahed-type kamikaze drones struck this very building. Early reports indicate that there were around three strikes. The buildings were completely destroyed, the premises smashed and burned to the ground."

Background: On the night of 27-28 January, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile as well as 146 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones. Around 90 of them were Shahed attack drones.
