"So clearly we have a role there," she added.
Background:
- European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU and the US are close to an agreement on a "prosperity plan" for Ukraine based on five pillars: productivity, Ukraine's integration into the EU market, investment, strengthening donor coordination and reforms.
- Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that EU leaders at an EU summit had been presented with a confidential European Commission document that envisages Ukraine joining the European Union by 2027.
- German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, for his part, has clearly stated that Ukraine joining the European Union in 2027 is not possible.
