Large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv: damage recorded in five districts, three people injured

Several residential high-rise buildings have been damaged, a kindergarten has caught fire and three people have been injured in a large-scale Russian attack on the city of Kyiv on the night of 2-3 February.

Details: The ballistic missile threat to Kyiv was reported at 01:09.

An air-raid warning was issued in several oblasts due to the risk of ballistic strikes.

Meanwhile, the threat from Russian attack drones remained over Kyiv and several oblasts.

Explosions were heard in the capital after 01:00.

Update: Klitschko later reported that medics had been called to the Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts.

Tkachenko said that "several high-rise residential buildings and an educational facility in the Dniprovskyi district had been damaged".

Later, Klitschko confirmed damage and a fire at a kindergarten.

Quote from Klitschko: "A strike on non-residential buildings has been recorded in the Darnytskyi district.

A fire has broken out inside a kindergarten in the Dniprovskyi district."

Update: Tkachenko reported at 03:26 that one person had been injured in the Darnytskyi district. They received medical treatment at the scene.

He said that as of 03:40, the aftermath of the Russian attack had been recorded in five districts of Kyiv: Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi and Shevchenkivskyi.

  • The Darnytskyi district:

A fire broke out in non-residential buildings as a result of the attack. A 25-storey residential building at one location and a five-storey building at another were damaged.

  • The Desnianskyi district:

A non-residential building was damaged.

  • The Dniprovskyi district:

Debris from Russian weapons was found in open areas at two locations. Damage was also recorded on the grounds of a kindergarten. A five-storey residential building was damaged at another location.

  • The Pecherskyi district:

A petrol station was damaged, along with parked cars and the station building itself.

  • The Shevchenkivskyi district:

Early reports indicated that a 22-storey residential building had been damaged by the strike.

Tkachenko reported at 04:12 that the number of people injured in the Russian attack on Kyiv had risen to two.

Update: Tkachenko wrote at 07:29 that the number of people injured had increased to three.
