Russian forces have once again attacked thermal power plants belonging to DTEK, Ukraine's largest private energy company.

Details: The attack caused significant damage to the power plants' equipment.

DTEK reported that this was the ninth large-scale strike on the company's thermal power plants since October 2025.

"DTEK's thermal power plants have been attacked over 220 times by the enemy since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. As a result, 59 power engineers have been injured and four lost their lives," the company reported.

Background: The Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts of Kyiv were left largely without heating following a Russian overnight strike on the city's energy network.
