First round of Ukraine-US-Russia talks concludes in Abu Dhabi, to continue on Thursday

Ukraine's negotiating team has completed the first day of trilateral talks with Russia and the US in Abu Dhabi aimed at resolving the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Details: Davitian added that the talks are due to continue on Thursday 5 February.
Update: Umierov said the negotiation process continued in working groups after the trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi on 4 February.
The US was represented by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and White House adviser Josh Gruenbaum, as well as US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll and General Alexus Grynkewich, NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe. Russia was represented at a high military level, Umierov added.

- The Ukrainian delegation in Abu Dhabi includes Rustem Umierov; Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the President's Office, and his First Deputy Serhii Kyslytsia; Davyd Arakhamiia, leader of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction; Andrii Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; and President's Office adviser Oleksandr Bevz.
- Umierov said the Ukrainian team planned to hold a bilateral meeting with the US delegation, represented by US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to discuss the security guarantees document and the "prosperity plan".
- The trilateral talks in the United Arab Emirates come immediately after a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine. Following the latest strikes, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the work of the Ukrainian delegation at the peace talks would be adjusted.
