Details: The machine was developed as part of a project of the same name. Ukraine's Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture also reported about its successful certification.
The developers said the machine can clear between 1,500 and 2,500 sq m an hour, depending on soil and vegetation, to a depth of up to 25 cm. The UDM VORMELA is operated remotely.
Quote from the Economy Ministry: "The machine's working tool is a flail mulcher, which protects the main platform from blasts caused by hand grenades, unexploded artillery fragmentation submunitions, anti-personnel mines and other small explosive hazards. The UDM VORMELA's body is protected with Mars 500 armoured steel, providing critical protection against shrapnel and blast waves."
More details: The machine can also be fitted with interchangeable attachments, including a skeleton bucket, a standard bucket, a pellet loader and a swivel dozer blade.
It has been developed in two chassis configurations, using either solid rubber wheels or clip-on tracks. The machine is equipped with a John Deere engine and Proclain hydraulics.
The UDM VORMELA weighs about 6 tonnes and, according to the manufacturer, is serviced and repaired in Ukraine.
Background: In June 2025, Ukraine's Ministry of Defence opened a training and testing complex to develop cutting-edge technologies in mine action. Preparations were also ongoing for serial production of the heavy demining machine HART 5100.
