Russia attacks dog shelter in Zaporizhzhia, killing and injuring animals

The Dai Lapu, Druzhe (Give a Paw, Friend) animal shelter has been damaged as a result of a Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia. Many animals have been killed. Those pets injured in the strikes are being evacuated to veterinary clinics.

Details: Municipal services, rescue workers and volunteers are currently providing assistance to the animals on site. They are pulling dogs out of damaged enclosures and evacuating those injured to save their lives.

"Many dead animals, many have been injured, enclosures destroyed, dogs have escaped … We need help – hands and money," the shelter wrote on its page.

Some of the animals have been taken to a veterinary clinic, where they are receiving the necessary treatment.

Background: A married couple has been killed as a result of a Russian drone strike on the town of Vilniansk in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
