Russia attacks Ukraine with 11 ballistic missiles and 149 drones overnight: hits recorded at 23 locations

Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles on the night of 8-9 February, as well as with 149 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas attack UAVs and other types of drone. Around 90 of them were specifically Shahed attack drones.

Details: Early reports indicate that as of 09:30, Ukrainian air defence had downed and jammed 116 Russian Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas UAVs and other types of loitering munitions.
In addition, some Iskander-M ballistic missiles were intercepted and therefore failed to reach their targets.
Missile strikes and 23 strike UAV hits were recorded at 15 locations, as well as the fall of debris from downed targets at six locations.
The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces.
The attack is ongoing, with several Russian UAVs still in Ukrainian airspace.
