Quote: "Russia systematically attacks postal routes, primarily where a vehicle with the postal logo remains the only way for people to receive pensions, medicines, social payments and parcels. A strike on a postal vehicle here is not about equipment. It is an attempt to stop life near the front."
Details: The epicentre of attacks has been mobile branches known as "post offices on wheels". Since the start of the full-scale war, 103 such crews have come under fire, and 137 company vehicles in total have been affected.
In 2025 alone, Russian forces attacked 21 Ukrposhta mobile branches – civilian transport with no military purpose.
The highest number of vehicles, including mobile branches, were damaged in the following oblasts: Chernihiv – 29, Kherson – 25, Dnipropetrovsk – 24, Sumy – 18 and Donetsk – 13.
Another 281 vehicles were lost in 2022 during the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories by Russian forces.
Quote: "The new year has not changed the tactics of terrorist attacks. In the first weeks of January, Russian forces struck postal crews in Sumy and Kherson oblasts twice. People survived. The vehicles did not. Each subsequent route departure is work under the constant threat of repeat strike."
Details: At the end of 2025, Ukrposhta received 160 new MAN and Iveco vehicles, partially compensating for vehicle losses. Thanks to team efforts and route restructuring, 95-98% of parcels are delivered on time even in regions where routes may change at any moment, the company noted.
