German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has said there are signs that Russia will not be able to economically sustain its war against Ukraine for much longer.

Details: "It would be very surprising if Russia were able to maintain this for a very, very long time."
"We need to stop the flow of money from gas and oil sales as quickly, completely and decisively as possible, because this is the funding source for this terrible war – the funds that Russia needs," he added.
Previously: French President Emmanuel Macron recently noted that sending troops to Ukraine at this stage would risk escalation and a loss of control over the situation.
"I believe our main priority in the coming weeks should be to restore cooperation with the US, so that together we recognise there is no room for short-term negotiations. Additional sanctions and measures against the shadow fleet should be imposed and pressure on the Russian economy increased to stop this war, but under much more favourable conditions," Macron explained.
Background: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz urged the US to reject isolationist ideas and work with Europe on global challenges.
