Ukrainian intelligence agency names Russia's Kalashnikov group companies still not under sanctions
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has published detailed data on 39 companies that are part of the Russian Kalashnikov group.

Details: DIU noted that the holding company is generally associated with small arms. However, in practice its production is a multi-faceted element of Russia's military-industrial complex and is directly involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.
Quote: "The companies belonging to the group manufacture reconnaissance and strike UAVs, guided artillery munitions, high-speed landing craft and equipment for the Russian armed forces, as well as machine tools for other Russian defence companies."
Details: DIU emphasised that despite its critical role in military production, almost half of the group's companies are still not under sanctions from any country in the sanctions coalition.
Among them are:
- Luggar Design Office LLC, a developer of thermal imaging sights and laser rangefinders
- the Kalashnikov industrial cluster, which produces small arms, specialised equipment, clothing and gear for special units
- the Kalashnikov Academy training centre, which trains experts in robotics, artificial intelligence, and the creation and modernisation of UAVs for the group's companies.
DIU reported that the group became the sixth holding company of the Rostec Corporation disclosed by the intelligence service in the "Aggressor's military-industrial complex" section of the War&Sanctions portal. The total list of Rostec entities already published on the portal amounts to nearly 500 companies.
Background:
- Earlier, DIU exposed 21 Russian companies producing drones for the war against Ukraine.
- Prior to that, DIU released an interactive 3D model, component database and data on 31 companies involved in the production of unified gliding and correction modules that Russia widely uses on its munitions to terrorise Ukraine.
