Ukraine's intelligence service names manufacturers of Russia's unified gliding and correction modules for aerial bombs used to attack Ukraine

Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has published an interactive 3D model, a component database and data on 31 companies involved in the production of the unified gliding and correction modules (UMPKs) that Russia massively uses for terror against Ukraine.

Quote: "With the help of UMPKs, the enemy turns FAB-500M62, FAB-250, RBK-500, ODAB-500, ODAB-1500, FAB-3000 and other unguided aerial bombs into guided ones – so-called GABs."
Details: DIU noted that the gliding and correction module consists of a power frame, a nose fairing, folding wings, elevons and stabilisers and is attached to the bomb with special clamps.
Target guidance is provided by the SMART glider control system, a satellite navigation system with a Kometa jam-resistant adaptive antenna (with four or eight elements) and a gimballess inertial navigation system.
"In 2024, the enemy began using FAB-500T aerial bombs with extended-range UMPK-PD modules. Such modules have an increased wing area and a longer power frame, a 12-element Kometa-M12 and an updated SMART unit, which makes it possible to increase the glide range of their use," the agency stressed.
DIU emphasised that the key developer of UMPK modules and the contractor for the state defence order is the Tactical Missiles Corporation.
At the same time, six enterprises on the list are still not under sanctions by any of the countries in the sanctions coalition. Among them are:
- Special Design and Technology Bureau Kurganpribor JSC – carries out final assembly of UMPK-250 and UMPK-500
- GEFEST AND T CJSC – develops and installs SVP-24 Gefest computing subsystems on the main carriers of GABs: Su-34s, Su-35Ss and Su-24Ms
"The fact that these companies are not on the sanctions lists allows them to establish an unhindered supply of goods and technologies from abroad as well as organise the servicing of financial operations by international banks," the intelligence service said.
In addition to information on UMPKs, the portal has also added new data on companies involved in the joint production of Kh-101 cruise missiles, the S8000 Banderol cruise missile, the Orion unmanned aerial vehicle, UMPB gliding munitions and Molniya UAVs.
Background: Recently, DIU also named the manufacturers of the Iskander cruise missile that are still not under sanctions.
