Units in the 7th Rapid Response Corps' area of responsibility, together with other elements of Ukraine's defence forces, are countering these plans by carrying out intensified aerial reconnaissance and laying additional mines along likely Russian advance routes.

Details: The Air Assault Forces said Russian troops are advancing in small assault groups from the north-western part of Pokrovsk towards Hryshyne. Ukrainian defence forces have been detecting and wiping them out as they try to gain a foothold on the settlement's outskirts.

A Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to infiltrate farmland north of Pokrovsk, but Ukrainian troops detected and destroyed it.

Over the past week, Ukraine's defence forces killed and wounded 255 Russian troops, destroyed or damaged 19 vehicles and motorbikes, hit 29 drone launch sites, destroyed 36 shelters and storage points and downed 575 attack UAVs in the area.

Background:

  • On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 63 Russian attacks over the past day.
  • DeepState, a Ukrainian group of military analysts, has reported that Russian forces have occupied the village of Rivne, located between the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk Oblast.
  • On 9 February, DeepState reported that the Russians had been amassing forces in Pokrovsk and north of Myrnohrad, attempting to advance further north towards Rodynske.
