Three employees of Sloviansk thermal power plant killed in Russian attack

Three employees of the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant have been killed after Russian forces launched a drone attack on their vehicle on the morning of 17 February.

Quote from Nekrasov: "A Russian drone attacked a car carrying employees of the Sloviansk Thermal Power Plant in the morning. Sadly, three of them have been killed. This is yet another reminder of how high the price of light and heat in our homes is."

Background:

• On the night of 16-17 February, Russia dealt yet another devastating blow to energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa. DTEK, the largest private energy company in Ukraine, reported that the damage is extremely serious and repairs will take considerable time to return the equipment to operation.
• That same night, Russian forces struck Odesa, damaging civilian infrastructure facilities and injuring three people.
• Russia has launched a combined attack on Ukraine, specifically designed to cause maximum damage to Ukraine's energy sector. Twelve oblasts have been affected.
