Ukrainian forces hit oil refinery in Russia and disrupt logistics in Donetsk Oblast, says Kyiv

Ukraine's defence forces struck the Ilsky oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, as well as logistics facilities and military personnel in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine on the night of 16-17 February.

Details: The General Staff said Russian logistics facilities had also been hit, specifically warehouses containing matériel in Donetsk and near the village of Lidyne in the occupied part of Donetsk Oblast.

Ukrainian forces also hit clusters of Russian troops near the settlements of Rozivka and Liubymivka in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

A communications hub belonging to Russia's 127th Motorised Rifle Division was hit near the settlement of Zelenopil in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Information is being gathered on Russian losses and the scale of damage caused by the strikes.

Background: Before this, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Staff, users on Russian social media and monitoring channels claimed that drones struck several targets in Russia on the night of 16-17 February, notably the Ilsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai, where the attack caused a large-scale fire.

For reference: The Ilsky oil refinery is one of southern Russia's largest oil facilities and plays a key role in producing petroleum products. Its primary processing units have a total capacity of 6.6 million tonnes of oil per year. The refinery supplies the Russian armed forces.
