Russians attack Ukraine with 126 drones and Iskander-M missile overnight: air defence downs 100 drones

Russian forces attacked Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 126 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas drones on the night of 17-18 February.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 100 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas loitering munitions as well as drones of other types.

Hits by the ballistic missile and 23 UAVs had been recorded at 14 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 3 locations.

The Iskander-M ballistic missile was fired from temporarily occupied Crimea.

The attack drones were launched from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske in Crimea.

The Russians deployed 126 UAVs, around 80 of them were Shahed loitering munitions.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
