Details: The poll, conducted from 23 January to 3 February among 1,725 participants, has found that 52% of respondents trust Macron, while 31% do not. The remainder were undecided or unfamiliar with him.

After Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ranks second, trusted by 44% of Czechs and distrusted by 47%.

"The survey highlights a relatively high level of unfamiliarity with certain foreign leaders," the statisticians said. For most politicians, the share of "don't know" responses is in double digits, peaking at 62% for Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer shows a similar pattern.

By contrast, the vast majority of respondents are familiar with Zelenskyy, Putin, and Trump. For all three, distrust outweighs trust. The gap is small for Zelenskyy but much larger for Putin and Trump. Just 8% of Czechs trust Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, while 87% do not. In the case of Trump, 12% express trust and 83% distrust him.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping commands trust from only 7% of Czechs. However, distrust is lower than for Putin and Trump, at 53%, while around a third of respondents said they do not know him.
