Zelenskyy: "I know more about Russia than Putin knows about Ukraine, I don't need historical bullshit"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he does not need history lessons from Putin or members of his team, as these only drag out the negotiations and are irrelevant to bringing the war to an end.

Quote: "With all respect to history, but I don't want to lose time on all these issues… I don't want to speak about it because I don't have time. I have my point of view on why he began [the war against Ukraine]... and I can definitely speak about it, etc., but I don't need to waste time on historic issues, reasons why he began. All this… bullshit he's raising with the Americans, etc… about Peter I… I don't need it. Because [in order to] end this war and go [in a] diplomatic way, I don't need all this historical shit, really. It's just to postpone [the talks]."
Details: Zelenskyy added that he has read just as many history books as Putin.
Quote: "I learned a lot… And I know about his country more than he knows about Ukraine. Simply because I was in Russia in so many cities and knew a lot of people... And he has never been so many times in Ukraine. He was only in big cities. I was there from small [towns] in the northern part to the southern part. Everywhere. I know their mentality. That's why I don't want to lose time on all these things."
More details: Zelenskyy said such talk about history is "about them", referring to the Russians.
Quote: "They decided to have such a system. Russians decided to change themselves. Russians decided they needed a new tsar. But it's up to them. But there is a security thing. There is a big war against us. [These are] our lives. The only thing that I want to speak with him about is what, in my view, we need to [find the] most successful way. I mean, in a quick way, without too [many] losses again and again, to end this war. And that is why… I want to speak about only such things."
