Ukrainian company develops simulator to train operators of military robots

Ukrainian company Roboneers has developed the Shadow, a simulator designed to train operators of robotic systems.

Details: The association said the simulator enables operators to practise controlling robotic platforms without risking lives or damaging costly equipment.
Quote: "Modern war is a war of technology, where an operator's skill is worth no less than the hardware itself."
More details: The Technological Forces of Ukraine said the Shadow can simulate complex combat scenarios, particularly operations under electronic warfare conditions where signals are disrupted. The system can also recreate harsh weather such as gale-force winds, fog and heavy rain, and simulate operations in dense urban areas or forested terrain.

The Shadow provides physically accurate modelling, including ballistic calculations, thermal imaging effects and other realistic processes. The platform supports the integration of ground-based robotic systems, drones, unmanned surface vessels and air defence systems.
Roboneers said over 300 operators have completed training on the simulator and are now performing combat missions. The system also includes theoretical courses, video materials and practical case studies to support decision-making in scenarios designed to mirror real battlefield conditions as closely as possible.
Background: It was reported earlier that service personnel at Ukraine's Technology Solutions Scaling Centre developed a virtual training system called PROYAV to train electronic warfare and electronic signals intelligence experts.
