Quote: "Efforts to deal with the aftermath of Russian attacks continues non-stop – 24/7. Thanks to the work of the repair crews and rising temperatures, we are seeing an improvement in the electricity supply situation. However, we have information that the enemy is preparing for new strikes on the energy sector."
Details: Shmyhal pointed out that given the threat, the task for all services is not only to carry out rapid repairs, but also to be as prepared as possible for the challenges to come.
Speaking at a meeting of the energy staff, he said more than 200 crews are working to restore heating and electricity in Kyiv.
"We also had a separate discussion on dealing with the aftermath in Odesa, as well as in frontline oblasts – the challenges are greatest there," the minister noted.
Shmyhal added that work with Ukraine's partners on equipment supplies is ongoing on a daily basis. A visit to France by an Energy Ministry team resulted in agreements to mobilise €600 million to strengthen Ukraine's energy resilience.
"In addition, [Ukrainian] engineers and technical specialists have been sent to Europe to inspect six plants from which equipment could be urgently delivered to Ukraine," Shmyhal said.
