Russia attacks Ukraine with missile and 126 drones: air defence intercepts 105 UAVs, 20 locations hit

Russian forces attacked Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 126 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 22-23 February. About 80 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicate that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 105 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by a ballistic missile and 20 UAVs were recorded at 11 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at one location.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces were involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
