Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missile and 133 drones: air defence downs 111 drones, attack rages on

Russian forces attacked Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 133 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones on the night of 23-24 February. About 90 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicate that as of 08:30, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 111 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.

Hits by a ballistic missile and 19 UAVs were recorded at 16 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at one location.

Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.

The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
