Eiffel Tower lit up in blue and yellow in Paris as sign of solidarity

The Eiffel Tower in Paris was lit up in blue and yellow, the colours of the Ukrainian flag, on Tuesday 24 February as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

Details: Vadym Omelchenko, Ukraine's Ambassador to France, described the illumination as a symbol of remembrance and solidarity. He said he hopes the Eiffel Tower will shine in Ukrainian colours next year to mark Ukraine's victory.
The Embassy also noted that a Ukrainian women's choir, Chœur de femmes Ukrainessence, had performed at the ceremony.
French President Emmanuel Macron also posted a photo of the illuminated Eiffel Tower on his X account.
Background: Roman Maslov, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and athlete, recently set a Ukrainian record on Mount Kilimanjaro by unfurling the largest flag ever carried by a single person to an altitude of nearly 6,000 m.
