First responder returning home from duty killed in Russian drone strike on Sumy Oblast

A State Emergency Service (SES) officer returning home from duty has been killed in Sumy Oblast after a Russian FPV drone struck his car.

Details: The incident occurred in the Velyka Pysarivka hromada on 25 February. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

The man killed in the strike was Pavlo Kolisnyk, a firefighter and a rescue worker from the 33rd State Fire and Rescue Post of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Unit.

"Pavlo Mykolaiovych was returning from duty when a drone struck his vehicle… He was driving home after his shift, having devoted nearly his entire life to this service since 1997," the SES said.
