Details: SOF said aerial reconnaissance had identified the route used by the Russian troops, along with the points where they were gathering in clusters.
After a METT-TC assessment, Ukrainian forces concluded that a conventional ambush would pose a heightened risk to the special operations group. Instead, SOF soldiers infiltrated behind enemy lines, planted explosives at concentration points of Russian soldiers and withdrew safely.
SOF reported that the result was losses among the Russians and the severing of the advance route in that area of the front.
For reference: METT-TC stands for Mission enemy terrain/weather troops time civil considerations. It is a basic framework for analysing a combat task from receipt of the mission through to completion.
