Rustem Umierov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, has said that the Ukrainian delegation and US representatives discussed post-war reconstruction during talks in Geneva.

Details: Umierov said that the sides had placed particular emphasis on the economic component and long-term mechanisms for supporting Ukraine.

Together with the government's economic team, including Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev, and US partners, they "conducted a detailed review of the document on Ukraine's recovery".

Background:

  • Umierov said in Geneva on 26 February that "another round of negotiations has concluded". This included a separate meeting with the US side and a trilateral meeting involving the US and Switzerland.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the next meeting in Ukraine-US-Russia format is most likely to take place in UAE in early March.
