Quote: "Our main focus in the first month was air defence. In response to intense Russian attacks, our task was to strengthen the air defence system. To this end, we have introduced the After Action Review system.

Each time after a large-scale attack, we gathered teams from the Defence Ministry and the Air Force to analyse it: where interceptors are located, where Shaheds are downed, the ballistic trajectories, how short-range air defence performs and the aftermath of each attack. We have made decisions on what needs to be improved".

Details: Fedorov said a digital system has been introduced to analyse all attacks and enable the assessment of the effectiveness of air defence performance.

He added that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conducts daily conference calls to review air defence performance and progress on repairs to energy infrastructure facilities.

Background:

  • The Ukrainian Air Force reported earlier that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine's air defence has destroyed more than 140,000 aerial assets, including more than 2,000 Kh-101 cruise missiles and 44,000 Shahed loitering munitions.
  • On 24 February, Fedorov said that while peace talks are ongoing, Ukraine has prepared a war plan that envisages three key areas: strengthening air defence, stopping Russian troops and depriving Russia of economic resources to continue aggression.
