Two people killed in Russian drone attack on car in Sumy Oblast

Russian forces attacked a car in Sumy Oblast, killing two people, on the evening of 27 February.

Quote: "According to the investigation, on 27 February 2026 at around 18:20, the occupiers attacked a vehicle with a drone in the Vorozhba hromada." [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]
Details: Two men were killed and a 53-year-old man was injured.
Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the aftermath of the attack. A pre-trial investigation is underway into the war crimes that led to the deaths.
Background: Earlier on 27 February, the Russians attacked an agricultural facility in the city of Shostka, Sumy Oblast. The strike on the Yampil hromada killed two women aged 72 and 67 who worked at the facility. Their bodies were pulled from under the rubble.
Another employee, a 60-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries. She has been hospitalised and is receiving medical care.
