Zelenskyy to NATO secretary general: Russia's readiness to end war depends heavily on US

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on 27 February.

Quote: "I briefed him [Rutte] on our team's meetings with the American side and our preparations for a trilateral format.

It is important that we are sincerely committed to ending this war, and we are doing everything to achieve that. And in many respects, it depends specifically on the US whether Russia will be ready to end the war."

Details: Zelenskyy thanked Rutte for his support and added that both sides will continue to coordinate further.

Background: Rutte said on 24 February that lasting peace in Europe is only possible if there is real peace in Ukraine.
