According to analysis by ASTRA, the fire is raging near the Sheskharis oil loading terminal.

The Sheskharis terminal is one of the largest oil transshipment complexes in southern Russia, used for handling crude oil and petroleum products. It is involved in supplying the Russian Armed Forces conducting combat operations in Ukraine.

Earlier, Novorossiysk Mayor Andrei Kravchenko reported road closures near the city quay and towards the village of Kabardinka. The restrictions were introduced amid efforts to repel an attack by Uncrewed Surface Vessels and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
