Russia has damaged more than 9 GW of power generation capacity at thermal power plants, combined heat and power plants, and hydropower facilities in Ukraine since October 2025. So far, about 3.5 GW has been partially recovered after the attacks.

Details: According to Shmyhal, about 900 MW of distributed generation has been commissioned, including 400 MW of new gas and cogeneration units.

Details: It is also reported that €691.45 million has been raised for the Energy Support Fund, while the energy portfolio already includes 55 investment projects worth about UAH 1 trillion (US$22.8 billion).

Details: He added that the preferential price for electricity and gas for household consumers has been maintained.

Quote: "Preparations for the next heating season have already begun. Our goal is the maximum recovery of everything that can be rebuilt, the strongest possible protection of energy facilities, the construction of distributed generation, and the creation of reserves of resources and equipment."

Background: In winter, the electricity deficit in Ukraine's energy system was 5–6 GW; it has now decreased to 1 GW, the minister reported.
