Russia attacks Ukraine with ballistic missiles and 197 drones: air defences intercept over 160 UAVs, hits recorded
Russian forces attacked Ukraine with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 197 Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas attack UAVs and drones of other types on the night of 8-9 March. About 120 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.

Details: Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 161 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.
Hits by two missiles and 36 UAVs had been recorded at eight locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at one location.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
