US President Donald Trump has described his conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin as "very good".

Details: When asked by reporters about his conversation with Putin, Trump said it had been "very good".

Details: Despite this, Trump said the conversation had been positive. In addition to Ukraine, he said they had also discussed the situation in the Middle East.

Quote: "We obviously talked then about the Middle East and he wants to be helpful. I said: 'You could be more helpful by getting the Ukraine-Russia war over with. That would be more helpful.'"

Details: Summing up, Trump added that the conversation had been good and that Putin had wanted to be "very constructive".

Background: Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov said on 9 March that Putin had held a phone call with Trump, during which they had discussed the situation around Iran and the negotiations on resolving Russia's war against Ukraine.
