Details: The skier won silver in the classical sprint in the NS1 category for visually impaired athletes. Afterwards, Chinese athletes were taking photographs at the arena when Russian skier Anastasiia Bagiian, who had won the gold medal the previous day, approached them.

Seeing this, Kazmaier and her guide refused to take a joint photo. It should be noted that this was not accidental, as Germany had boycotted the opening ceremony of the Paralympics due to the participation of Russian athletes under their national symbols.

Background: 11 March is the fifth day of competitions of the 2026 Paralympics. The schedule can be found via the official link.
