Details: Brothers Artem and Nazar are originally from Luhansk Oblast. After 24 February 2022, their family was deported to Russia under the guise of "evacuation". They lived in temporary accommodation centres there and had to change their place of residence several times.
In Russia, the older brother finished school and enrolled at a university but later dropped out. The younger one also graduated from school. They had no opportunity to study online at a Ukrainian educational institution.
Then, one of the brothers was served with a draft notice. That was when the boys decided to leave Russia and ask for help.
A safe route was arranged for the teenagers. In Minsk, they received the documents required for their return, which allowed them to cross the border and reach territory controlled by Ukraine.
Background: Two sisters aged 13 and 16 were brought back from temporarily occupied Crimea. They had spent almost their entire lives under the Russian flag but had hoped for the liberation of their hometown.
