Quote: "Ukraine's defence forces continue to maintain an advantage in the use of multi-rotor FPV drones, although the Russians have now gained the capability to produce more than 19,000 FPV drones per day."
Details: The commander-in-chief also reported on the development of Ukrainian-made fibre-optic FPV drones. "Over the month, our drones hit about 4,200 enemy drone operator positions," he noted.
To counter Russian strike drones, interceptor UAV platoons are also being established in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Their task is to destroy enemy FPV drones, quadcopters and strike drones and improve logistics for our troops. Anti-drone rifles, electronic warfare equipment, net launchers and other means are being used," Syrskyi said.
In addition, the commander-in-chief said that at a meeting on the development of unmanned systems, the intelligence service reported that this year, the Russians are accelerating the formation of UAV units in an attempt to influence the course of combat operations, particularly on southern fronts where the Russians are losing initiative and territory.
"Russia plans to increase the number of unmanned systems troops to 101,000 by 1 April," he said.
During the meeting, Syrskyi listened to reports on the development of electronic warfare assets, the training of UAV operators and testing of interceptor drones. He set new tasks regarding the development of unmanned systems structures. He gave instructions on resolving problematic issues and providing support to units and training centres.
