Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has stated that over the past two days, air defence systems destroyed around 250 drones heading towards Moscow, and the attack is ongoing.

Details: In subsequent posts, Sobyanin reported that the drone attack was continuing.

The Russian Ministry of Defence also stated that over the past 24 hours alone, 145 drones had allegedly been intercepted and destroyed over Russian territory, including 53 over Moscow Oblast and 46 that were flying towards Moscow.

Background: On 14 March, Russia claimed that around 300 Ukrainian drones had attacked during the day, including 65 that were heading for Moscow. According to calculations by the propaganda agency TASS, the UAV attack on Moscow was the largest since the beginning of the year.
