Kremlin does not believe Trump has lost interest in Ukraine and expects talks to continue

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the Kremlin does not see any loss of interest by US President Donald Trump in talks on peace in Ukraine and is expecting the next round of negotiations.

Details: Peskov said that the Russians had seen reports that Trump is losing interest in talks on Ukraine against the backdrop of events in Iran, but, as the Kremlin believes, "President Trump's active mention of the topic of Ukraine in recent days in his statements indicates the opposite".
"Judging by his statements, President Trump has not lost any interest [in negotiations on Ukraine – ed.]," a spokesman for the Kremlin leader said.
At the same time, he started complaining that in his statements Trump "strongly recommends that President Zelenskyy make a deal", but that the Ukrainian side is allegedly slowing down the negotiating process.
Peskov also began insisting that the Kremlin is ready to continue negotiations. "We are waiting for the next round of negotiations. Unfortunately, for understandable reasons, place and time have still not been agreed, but we believe that this will become possible in the near future," the Kremlin spokesman said.
