Russia hits rail infrastructure in Chernihiv Oblast and facilities in southern regions, injuring people

Russian forces attacked Chernihiv, Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts on the night of 17-18 March. Two railway workers have been injured in Chernihiv Oblast, while infrastructure facilities have been damaged in Ukraine's south.

Details: A Russian drone struck a locomotive in Chernihiv Oblast, sparking a fire.

The driver and his assistant were injured and are receiving medical treatment. First responders and other emergency services are working at the scene.

In Odesa Oblast, Russian forces carried out drone strikes, damaging a critical infrastructure facility and some of its equipment. The ensuing fire was extinguished by firefighters. No casualties were reported.

In Mykolaiv Oblast, Russian forces also launched Shahed-type drones. The fall of debris from downed airborne assets damaged an outbuilding at a property and a power transmission line in the Pervomaisk district.

No casualties were reported. The relevant services are currently working to deal with the aftermath of the attacks.
