Quote: "Possibility is being considered of requesting, through port captains, escort for vessels under the Russian flag by mobile fire groups.
The question of placing special means of protection on vessels is also currently being worked on. Measures are envisaged to escort the merchant fleet with Navy ships."
Details: This comes against the backdrop of incidents involving Russian merchant vessels and attacks by the Ukrainian drones. In particular, Bloomberg writes about an inspection by Swedish law enforcement of one of the shadow fleet vessels and grain tankers.
Background: Belgium and France previously detained tankers of Russia's shadow fleet. The US also detained several tankers since the start of the year.
